There are 4 grades plus a development league. It is open to all male and female players and is the premier competition with the district. Games are played in 1 and 2 day formats from October to February with a finals series played in March.
Grade 1-4 & Development
Wests has a proud history and fielded teams in Men’s Grade cricket and its preceding competitions since the Lambton-North Lambton Club was founded in 1926. Our club has celebrated many successes, having won First Grade premierships on 9 occasions (most recently in 2021/22). Fielding teams in five Grades, there are opportunities for all player abilities. Traditional Grade cricket is played in Grades 1 – 4 with 5th grade being used as a Development League providing young players with their first taste of Grade cricket.
T20 Summer Bash
The stand alone T20 competition for (predominately) 1st Grade players began in 2016/17 and has grown to include teams from Suburban Districts competition and neighbouring Maitland district. Played in January/February in a round robin, then knock out format on Sunday and Wednesday afternoons, it’s a chance for the top players in the NDCA to have a hit!
Denis Broad OAM Cup
A knockout T20 competition for lower grades which gives players of broader abilities an opportunity to swing their bat and make every ball count.
Exclusions apply for players who have participated in 3 x 1st grade games in current and past season
Masters
For players over 35 who have retired from regular competition. A T20 format that provides an for members to retain friendships (and revive old rivalries) in a friendly and social atmosphere. Played on Wednesday afternoons in Nov/Dec, Wests fields 2 teams and all enjoy the mateship and camaraderie of this competition.
